What is the Poppy zone?

The Poppy zone is the area where you can start and end your trip with a Poppy vehicle. It’s your launchpad for spontaneous city drives or longer road trips across Belgium and beyond! 🚗 🗺️

🔑 Key things to know about Poppy Zones:

  • Start and end your ride here:
You must begin and finish your trip within a designated Poppy zone. Visit our website or check the app for a full overview of all active zones.

  • Freedom to explore:
Once your trip starts, feel free to drive anywhere in Belgium, or even into neighboring countries. Just make sure to return the vehicle to a Poppy zone before ending your trip. 🌍

  • Parking rules:
You must always park legally, both inside (for free) and outside Poppy zones (at your own expense). You can also use one of our designated partner parking spots when available.

🚐 Van zones & parking:

If you’re using a van, keep in mind there are specific zones (in Antwerp) and even parking spots (in Brussels) designated for vans. These are clearly marked in the app.

To check out zones easily:

  • Open the app.

  • If zone borders aren’t instantly visible, just zoom out a bit. The entire zone, including van-specific areas, will become clearly outlined.

📡 What are satellite zones?

Satellite zones are part of the broader Poppy zone, but they’re in areas with lower vehicle demand. We keep these zones available because we know many of you rely on Poppy for commuting or regular travel.

What to expect in satellite zones:

  • Starting a trip is free: You can begin your ride from a satellite zone at no extra cost.

  • Ending a trip comes with a small fee: If you end your trip in a satellite zone, there’s a small drop-off fee to help cover operational costs.

Current satellite zones:

  • Wijnegem (around Wijnegem Shopping Center)

  • Mortsel
