Where are you allowed to park?

Updated this week

Where to park your Poppy? Here’s a simple guide:

In Poppy zones:

  • You can park your Poppy for free in designated Poppy zones.

  • Leave your car in any legal public parking spot, including areas where a parking permit is usually required.

Outside Poppy zones:

  • You can also park in any legal public parking, but it will be at your own expense.

Payment information:

  • In the zones of Antwerp and Brussels, parking is free in public areas, except in red zones (commercial areas - visible in the app).

Free parking in public zones:

  • Enjoy free parking within Poppy zones. However, some areas may have restrictions.

Temporary parking bans (movable signs) and permanent signs with temporary bans:

Think of signs put up for roadworks or moves, or signs that only apply on specific days or hours — like market days or around schools.

If a ban goes into effect within 48 hours of when you parked and a fine is issued
→ you’re responsible for the fine.

Note: Any fines issued after that (even beyond 48h) are still your responsibility as long as the vehicle remains parked there — including any potential towing fees.

Permanent parking bans (fixed signs):

These signs are always in effect, no matter when you parked.

→ Even if the first fine comes after 48 hours, you’re still responsible. Fines will continue as long as the car is improperly parked.

Poppy can’t be held responsible for moving wrongly parked vehicles — and we can’t guarantee that another user will pick up the car within 48 hours.

⚠️ Important information:

  • Always follow parking rules to avoid fines. If you park outside Poppy zones, make sure to get a valid parking ticket.

  • Underground parking is prohibited, except at our partnerparkings.

  • For areas requiring a blue card, you must suspend your trip to park there. Our vehicles do not have a blue card, so you can't end your trip in these zones. Use your own blue card to suspend the trip.

  • Our Poppy vans have designated parking spots in Brussels, shown on the map in the app, making it easy for you to complete your trip.
