📝 When do I add a payment method?
You’ll be asked to add a payment method when registering for a Poppy account.
💳 How to add a payment method
Open the Poppy app.
Go to your Profile (bottom right corner).
Tap the gear icon (top right) to open your settings.
Choose "Payments".
Select on of our supported payment methods:
Credit or Debit Card
Bancontact
Payconiq by Bancontact
👉 Note: Prepaid credit cards are not accepted.
💡 Why am I being charged €0.02?
To confirm your payment method is valid, Poppy makes a one-time €0.02 check. It’s just for verification.
✅ Once verified, you're good to go and can upload any required documents in the app.

Contact your bank if needed
Try again in 24h or use a different method

Yes, it's a standard way to securely confirm payment methods, used by many online services.
🔄 How to update or change your payment method
You can update your payment method at any time by following the same steps in your profile settings. This is useful if you’ve changed cards, if your card is expired or if you want to use a different payment option.
🤔 Troubleshooting payment method issues
If you're having trouble adding or updating your payment method, ask yourself:
Am I using a supported payment method?
We only accept Bancontact, Debit/Credit cards, and Payconiq. Make sure you're not using a method we don’t support.Is it a prepaid credit card?
If yes, it won’t work with our system.Is this card linked to another Poppy account?
If your card is already used on another account with an unpaid invoice, you won’t be able to add it to yours until the balance is cleared.
