What will you pay, and what’s included?

A simple guide to understanding Poppy’s pricing, what’s included, and what to expect before, during, and after your trip.

What you’ll pay:

Poppy’s prices vary depending on the vehicle tier (S, M, L or XL). You’ll find all real-time rates in the app after registering.

This includes:

  • Pay per kilometer or prepaid packages

  • Reservation or scheduled rides fees

  • Airport fees

  • Surge fees or discounted vehicles

  • Unlocking costs

💡 All costs are shown clearly in the app during your trip, or check 'Trip history' for your past trips, costs and purchased packages.

✅ What’s included in your trip:

  • Free parking in Poppy zones
    You can park for free:
    - Anywhere legally inside the Poppy zones (Antwerp, Brussels)
    - In partner parkings shown in the app with a 'P' logo

  • Fuel or charging
    Fuel and charging are included when done at partner stations (shown in the app). No extra fees apply.

  • Maintenance
    Every ride includes maintenance, so you can count on a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle every time.

  • No obligated subscription or registration fees
    You pay only for what you use. 🎉

⚠️ Additional costs to know:

  • Extra kilometers and minutes
    If you drive more than 10 km and 1 hour on the 'Short trip' rate, a per-kilometer and per-minute fee applies, depending on your vehicle tier, with an hourly and daily cap rate for the extra minutes driven (not for the extra kilometers).

  • Airport fee
    ​Airport pickups or drop-offs include an added fee depending on the airport, visible in the app, or use 'Airport trip' under 'Special offers'.

  • Satellite zones
    Starting a trip from a satellite zone is free. Ending your trip there adds a fee.

  • Surge fee or discounts
    In high-demand areas or during busy times, a surge fee may apply. This will always be clearly shown in the app. In low-demand areas, you may also find discounts on vehicles, which are just as clearly indicated.

  • Protection
    ​Before reserving a vehicle, you’ll need to select your preferred protection type. The cost will be included in your prepaid package, or added to your final invoice.

Short trip vs. Long trip:

  • Short trip: For trips under 1 hour and 10 km.

  • Long trip: For longer trips, choose your time and distance and receive a discount (visible in the app) for paying upfront.

💡 Package almost expired? We will notify you! You can purchase a package during your trip, or buy an extra one if needed.

Temporary reservation (pre-authorization) explained:

When you start a trip, Poppy may place a temporary hold on your payment method to confirm it's validity. This is not a charge, just a reservation.

At the end of your trip:

  • If your trip costs less, only the correct amount is charged, the rest is released.

  • If it costs more, the amount + the extra is charged.

  • If you have a package, no temporary reservation is made, unless you exceed your included time or distance.

🕒 Refund times depend on your bank, but the hold usually disappears within a few days. These checks are random and for security purposes.
