What you’ll pay:

Poppy’s prices vary depending on the vehicle tier (S, M, or L). You’ll find all real-time rates in the app.

This includes:

  • Reservation/scheduled rides fees

  • Airport fees

  • Surge fees or discounted vehicles

  • Unlocking costs

  • Pay-per-minute and per-kilometer rates

  • Pause (stopover) costs

  • Pass and subscription prices

  • Insurance prices

What’s included in your trip:

  • 100 km included
If you’re driving without a pass and go over the included time or distance, a day fee is automatically applied. This fee includes 100 km, helping avoid surprise charges.

  • Free parking in Poppy zones
    You can park for free:
    - Anywhere legally inside the Poppy zones (Antwerp, Brussels)
    - In partner parkings shown in the app with a 'P' logo

  • Fuel or charging
Fuel and charging are included when done at partner stations (shown in the app). No extra fees apply.

  • Maintenance
Every ride includes maintenance, so you can count on a clean, safe, and well-functioning vehicle every time.

  • No subscription or registration fees
You pay only for what you use. 🎉

Additional costs to know:

  • ⚠️ Extra kilometers
If you drive more than 100 km a per-kilometer fee applies, depending on your vehicle tier.

  • ⚠️ Unpaused standstill time
If your vehicle remains inactive for over 10 minutes without using "Pause", it will count as if you drove a kilometer, and you’ll be charged accordingly.

  • ⚠️ Stopovers
Pause your trip legally and safely, parking is free within the Poppy zone and at your own expense outside. Use the Pause button to avoid unwanted charges.

  • ⚠️ Airport fee
Airport pickups or drop-offs include a small added fee.

  • ⚠️ Satellite zones
Starting a trip from a satellite zone is free. Ending your trip there adds a fee.

  • ⚠️ Surge fee
In high-demand areas or during busy times, a surge fee may apply, this will always be clearly shown in the app. In low-demand areas, you may also find discounts on vehicles, which are just as clearly indicated.

  • ⚠️ Insurance
Before reserving a vehicle, you’ll need to select your preferred insurance type. The cost will be added to your final invoice.

💡 All these costs are clearly indicated in the app.

Day fee vs. day pass:

  • Day fee: Applied automatically if you go beyond normal usage; includes 100 km.

  • Day/hour pass: Purchase these ahead of time for fixed time/distance at a better rate.

🚗 Holding a car longer than 24 hours without a pass? Poppy might reach out or end the rental if no action is taken. Purchase a pass to avoid this.

Pre-authorization charges explained:

When you start a trip, Poppy may place a temporary hold on your payment method to confirm it's validity. This is not a payment, just a reservation.

At the end of your trip:

  • If your trip costs less, only the correct amount is charged, the rest is released.

  • If it costs more, the amount + the extra is charged.

🕒 Refund times depend on your bank, but the hold usually disappears within a few days. These checks are random and for security purposes.
